In CHRIST, We Are . . . His Exquisite Fragrance~

In the Messiah, in Christ, God leads us from place to place in one perpetual victory parade.
Through us, he brings knowledge of Christ.
Everywhere we go, people breathe in the exquisite fragrance.
Because of Christ, we give off a sweet scent rising to God,
which is recognized by those on the way of salvation.
~ 2 Corinthians 2:14,15a (MSG)

Everyday, people are going through the motions of living.
As they make their way through conversations, committments, and commutes,
they are totally and completely
void of God's love,
void of the beauty of life,
void of life itself.

They are merely existing, not truly living.

Their mind is consumed with cares, worries and struggles.
Their heart is heavy, hung low, buried under heartache, sorrow and grief.
Their lungs are filled with stale air and empty promises that leave them gasping for more.

How they need the refreshing,
chain-loosening,
life-giving,
victorious love of God!

How they need to breathe in the beauty of Jesus!

You and I are called to shower the world with the love of Jesus.

As we seek His face and learn of His ways, He begins to permeate our life with His beauty.
As we die to self, and allow His Spirit to have victory over our flesh,
our lives become sweetened by the aroma of Christ.

It is Christ's love that attracts us.
It will be His love released through us that will capture the hearts of those around us.

As we offer our lives up to Christ as a living sacrifice,
we will fill the air with the breathtaking, heart-capturing love of Jesus.

As we allow Jesus to live in us and through us,
His fragrance will permeate the world around us.

As we live in CHRIST,
we will become His exquisite fragrance -
drawing all those around us,
to new life in CHRIST, too.

As you go through your day, what will you bring into the life of those around you?

Are you content to simply be stale air?

I didn't think so, and neither am I.

I want my life to be SO FILLED
with the love and knowledge of Christ,
that everywhere I go,
everything and everyone is stopped in their tracks
by the sweet fragrance of God.

I want to live my life so as to be
a sweet-smelling aroma of God's love.

I want to be a breath of fresh air....

the kind that will breathe new life into "dead" souls
and awaken them to new life in Christ.

In CHRIST, we are . . . His exquisite fragrance.

  1. "I want to be a breath of fresh air..." how beautiful! John says that those around us should know we are Christians by the love we live out. I forget, sometimes, that living for God is not about living for me. Each morning I pray that God will use me to be a blessing to someone else in the course of the day. And I think, I hope, that those prayers go answered in spite of me! :-)
