In CHRIST, We Are . . . Curable~

Do you ever feel like giving up?
Do you sometimes doubt if you will ever be able to "get it right"?
Do you try and try again, only to fail, and then fail  - again?
Do you ever feel as though you are spiritually broken, beyond repair?
Do you ever feel powerless in your fight against the raging disease of sin in your life? 

Do you ever feel incurable?

I have to admit, I've been there.  Many times.  And, so has Paul.

For if I know the law but still can’t keep it, and if the power of sin within me keeps sabotaging my best intentions, I obviously need help! I realize that I don’t have what it takes. I can will it, but I can’t do it. I decide to do good, but I don’t really do it; I decide not to do bad, but then I do it anyway. My decisions, such as they are, don’t result in actions. Something has gone wrong deep within me and gets the better of me every time.  It happens so regularly that it’s predictable. The moment I decide to do good, sin is there to trip me up. I truly delight in God’s commands, but it’s pretty obvious that not all of me joins in that delight. Parts of me covertly rebel, and just when I least expect it, they take charge. I’ve tried everything and nothing helps. I’m at the end of my rope. Is there no one who can do anything for me?

Can anyone cure me of my sin?

Enter our "in Christ" verse for the day:
No condemnation now hangs over the head of those who are “in” Jesus Christ. For the new spiritual principle of life “in” Christ lifts me out of the old vicious circle of sin and death.
~ Romans 8:1-2 (Phillips)

Oddly enough,
or maybe it was perfectly perfect,
when I looked up the word "condemn" at
one of the definitions I found was this:

to declare incurable

Outside of Christ, we are under condemnation.
Outside of Christ, we are caught in the vicious circle of sin and death.
Outside of Christ, you and I are incurable.

In CHRIST, we find our victory over sin.
In CHRIST, we are under His blood.

Listen to the rest of Romans 7 and Paul's excitement as he makes the same discovery:

Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Not in me trying harder.
Not in me spinning my wheels
and failing miserably.
Not in me doing it myself.

Not in my own works, 
my own ability, 
my own self.

Our healing is found
IN Jesus Christ our Lord.

In CHRIST, we are . . . curable.
