It's Planting Time~ Day11 {Make. It. Count.}

For the past few months, God has been speaking to my heart, over and over, about one thing:

planting seeds of worthiness

The first time this phrase captured my heart was while I was watching a short video highlighting "Little Dresses for Africa". This ministry transforms pillowcases into beautiful dresses for little girls in poverty-stricken Africa. As the mission of this ministry unfolded, so did God's plan for my life.

The ministry of "Little Dresses for Africa" is two-fold:
providing clean clothing AND planting seeds of worthiness in the heart of each girl receiving a beautiful pillowcase dress.

The phrase echoed over and over in my heart.

God was speaking.

When we begin to catch even the tiniest glimpse of who we are in Christ,
chains of bondage, oppression and fear break loose.

The world is full of people who don't know who they are.

Everywhere you look,
people, young and old,
are looking to the world
for their identity,
their self-worth,
their value
and acceptance.

Society is reaping a harvest, but sadly,
it is not the harvest of hearts where seeds of worthiness have been sown.
 Quite the opposite.

All who call out to the Lord will be saved.
How can people have faith in the Lord and ask him to save them,
if they have never heard about him?
 And how can they hear,
unless someone tells them?
~ Romans 10:13-14, CEV

It is up to you and me to be the sowers of these life-changing seeds.

By the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit,
you and I have discovered not only who we are,
but WHOSE we are.

Our worthiness comes from our adoption into the family of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, Jesus. Our value is seen unmistakably in the dying and suffering our of Saviour. Our self-esteem comes from knowing we were created, cell by cell, tissue by tissue, by the creator of the universe who amazingly created us in His very image.

You and I look to God to find our worth,
not the world,
and this makes all the difference in the way we live our life,
the choices we make,
and the person we become.

Empty searching

Hearts created to know their creator are crying out
for something more,
for something real,
for something life-changing and life-giving.

Don't you hear them?

Don't you see them?
But God has given us his Spirit.
That’s why we don’t think the same way that the people of this world think.
That’s also why we can recognize the blessings that God has given us.
~ 1 Corinthians 2:12, CEV

planting seeds of worthiness

God is speaking. And, God is calling.

He is calling you and I to tell the good news.
He longs for you and I to take seeds from the harvest of our own hearts and plant them into the soil of aching hearts all around us.

God is counting on you and I to make a difference -
to take our life and Make. It. Count. in the only way that truly matters.

Where do you need to plant seeds of worthiness?

Who do you know who desperately needs to know who he or she is in and through Christ?

It's time to start planting.

It's time to Make. It. Count.

  1. Stacy, you have a gift for saying just the right thing.

  2. Hi Stacy, this speaks to me on so many levels. This morning I gave a talk about our business and I spoke about sowing and reaping. It's really important to know who we are, and then to help others know who they are. I loved how you put it- "Our worthiness comes from our adoption into the family of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, Jesus. Our value is seen unmistakably in the dying and suffering of our Saviour. Our self-esteem comes from knowing we were created, cell by cell, tissue by tissue, by the creator of the universe who amazingly created us in His very image." Amen! Patsy from

  3. are stepping on my toes! I am a songwriter, and the songs God gives me are very opening up my journal and sharing my heart, so I am very protective of them. They have come from many experiences in my life as a wife, and mother of three. I discovered this outlet when my kids were little and I was a stay at home mom, and feeling smothered some days. This was my way to escape and stay sane, as I wrote about our "learning experiences". About 3 years ago, the songs began to take a different turn and I was now writing about different stages of my life, experiences and how they changed the way I looked at things...and about "feeling God". Friends who have heard some of these songs say I should get them copyrighted and recorded, and get them into the hands of the right people. That takes money and connections...both of which I do not have to put into it. I have been praying for God to send the person into my life who can take these songs and "unwrap" them, so they can be heard...if this is His Will. Nothing happens, or so it seems that way, and after a while I give up and forget about it, or figure that the songs were a gift to me, to get me through the rough days, and they still do. Tears still stream down my cheeks as I revisit the words and the melody...remembering just where my heart was when God gave it to me. I continue to trust Him and His timing, and that He knows best...He gave me the gift. Thank you for sharing YOUR GIFT that really stirred my heart to the point that I felt I should share with you. Any words of wisdom?
So glad to have found you.

Thank you for leaving a "heartprint" of your own.
