A Heavenly Perspective~

This is life?

As I type the question mark,  I relax my arms, tilt my head back, and look up.

The sky is an amazing shade of blue. Thin, wispy, sunlit clouds stretch from one side of this heavenly canvas to the other.  And, above them, the moon.

The question that brought me to this place still begs for an answer, but now, gazing up, my troubled mind suddenly feels at peace.

With my nose to the grind, it's easy to get bogged down in the complexities of life. With this to do and that to accomplish, my eyes stay focused on the here and now, what is looming right ahead of me, and sometimes, what is still fresh behind me.  Seldom do I take the time to stop and reflect on what is above me.

Oh, but when I do, I am blessed with a Heavenly perspective.

As I take in the grandeur of this "on display, everyday" masterpiece, I mourn other skies from other days that went unnoticed.

In my regret, I am now humbly and keenly aware of just how piddly the puzzle of life can become.

Questions that tug at my heart are shallow compared to the depth of the universe.
Worries and concerns pale in comparison to the ONE who created the heavens and earth.

And I realize the answer I long for is there, above me.
It is written in the clouds, declared in the blue of the sky, showcased in the moon.

God's glory is on tour in the skies,
God-craft on exhibit across the horizon.

The revelation of God is whole
and pulls our lives together.

The signposts of God are clear
and point out the right road.

The life-maps of God are right,
showing the way to joy.

The directions of God are plain
and easy on the eyes.
~ Psalms 19:1, 7-8, The Message

As my fingers find their way back to my keyboard,
I have once again found the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE.

I hit the delete button and with a smile as big as the sky above me,
I replace the question mark with an exclamation point.

This is life!

  2. Well said Stacy. I love this post and it is a good reminder to all of us to Look UP and be focused on God and not to be consumed by the things of this world . We get so pulled into distractions that consume our time and we don't spend as much time with the Lord as we should. Thanks for refocusing us.
