Held~ Day 2 (31 Days of Wisdom)

I placed the ping pong ball in the middle of the table. Then, I divided the children into two teams, one for each side of the table. Excitedly, these youngsters got into position - on their knees, hands clasped behind their backs.

Then, it was game on!

The object:
To blow the ping pong ball off the side of the table "owned" by the opponent.

As hot air flew around the table, so did this little lightweight ball. It rolled from one corner of the table to the next, from this side to that, twisting and turning and going in absolutely no direction of it's own, completely left to the whim of all that hot air.

Have you ever noticed how much hot air is in your life?

Have you felt the winds of the world raging against you, threatening to blow you off course?

Ever wish you had something solid underneath you,

something to sink your toes into,

something to hold you in place?

Wisdom

For the Lord grants wisdom!
From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest.
He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.
He guards the paths of the just
and protects those who are faithful to him.
Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair,
and you will find the right way to go.
For wisdom will enter your heart,
and knowledge will fill you with joy.
Wise choices will watch over you.
Understanding will keep you safe.
~ Proverbs 2:6-11, NLT

No wonder Proverbs 2 beckons us to seek wisdom with everything we have, to search for it as though it were a treasure.  Truly, it is more precious than gold.

Godly wisdom

shields us,

guards us,

protects us,

leads us,

holds onto us.

Godly wisdom keeps us steady as a rock as we stand on The Rock.

Tired of rolling around through life,

wandering aimlessly here,

 pulled helplessly there,

tossed to and fro?

Seek wisdom.

                Seek God.

Sink your toes into God's Word.
Surrender your lack of wisdom for HIS steady supply.

Allow Godly wisdom  to be the anchor of your soul~

  3. Hot air - yes it happens. May we enjoy his breath of his kisses

  4. I was just thinking about something -- doubts -- and instead of being blown away by them, I thought that perhaps I just take them to God. Isn't that just what wisdom is? Instead of stewing, just taking things to the feet of God instead of being blown away by our own hot air of doubt? Love your post.

  5. great thoughts! found myself laughing first by the thought of all the hot air in my life, then by the very cute picture at the end.
wisdom. something worth contemplating each and every day. thanks so much for sharing this. we've been studying proverbs with our kids, but got away from it over the holidays. this reminds me we need to get back to it!
