When You Are Tired of the Fight~

The winds of strife are blowing and their hurricane force is wearing me down. I stand, braced for the battle, but the storm rages on. Unrelenting. Continuous. Day in, day out.

Bickering,

fault-finding,

grace-less condemnation,

eating down the walls of unity,

storming through the door of God's family, the church,

smashing windows of the soul.

Holding on to His Word, I try to reach out and grab those caught up in the whirlwind. I speak words of peace, forgiveness, mercy that fall on deaf ears, only to be whipped away, unheard, unheeded.

And, I'm tired.

I'm weary.

I'm heartbroken,

B.U.T...

I'm not giving up.

With God on my side, I will stand in the gap. I will keep tossing out the preserver of peace, praying that eventually, others, tired and weary from the storm, will reach out and take hold.

No matter how hard the winds,

No matter how weary I become,

I will fight to put an end to this fight.
In HIS strength.

In HIS might.

In HIS power.

In HIS victory.

Because....

It's not about the girl in the fight.

It's about the fight in the girl.

And this girl is fighting in the name of Jesus-

Sometimes, you just have to keep reminding yourself of the victory that is ours in and through Christ.  Thank you, Jesus~

  2. My heart can feel you. I'm sure much different circumstances I've been through, but yet the same emotion. I love your words 'it's not about the girl in the fight, but the fight in the girl." Fighting for Jesus right along side you. Love your bloggy world here. Blessings. Joining in at 5 minutes.

'No matter how weary I become, I will fight to put an end to this fight'

    - Matth. 11:28 -

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

  5. Hi Stacy. First time by your blog. Thank you for sharing your heart.
The word Tired resonated heavy with me as well.
You got it so right girl: HIS strength, HIS might, HIS power, and HIS victory.
    Thanks for the reminder
    Blessings

  6. Powerful (as usual), Stacy!

This phrase caught me today: "grace-less condemnation." Condemnation is always grace-less, isn't it? Great point.

  8. Amen, sister. This girl is fighting with you. I think learning to rest in the battle is part of the victory. Trusting in His strength and not my own. I am talking to my Father about you tonight. Xoxo Shelly

  10. These words are the very feelings in my heart expressed in a clearer voice than I could find myself! It hurt to hear them spoken so plainly after trying to supress them so long, but it was also empowering to face them and say, "With God on my side, I will stand in the gap. I will keep tossing out the preserver of peace, praying that eventually, others, tired and weary from the storm, will reach out and take hold." Thank you for sharing His strength with me!

  11. Hi Stacy:

I haven't visited in a while and wanted to check in with you. I lift you up in prayer for this situation.

"Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called sons (daughters) of God."

    Blessings,
